How to get feedback and testimonials

Getting constructive feedback, reviews and testimonials from your clients and customers is one of the most important things you can do to get more clients the next time around.

There are two huge reasons you need reviews, feedback and testimonials:

  1. Constructive feedback makes your product better

You’re in business to help people which means that you need to listen to their ideas for how you can do a better job, whether that’s about your actual product, your customer service or even your purchasing system.

  1. Strong testimonials instantly lead to more sales – Good testimonials and reviews has the power to double your conversion rate.

So, how to get them:

Spontaneous Testimonials

It may be rare that people drop in out of nowhere to tell you what they love about your work, but when they do, be sure to capture it! Have a folder on your computer / cloud drive called ‘Testimonials’.

When you get a great email, FB post, tweet, text or letter etc. about your product or service, take a screenshot and drop it in the folder. If the testimonial comes from a private Facebook group, message, text or email, just make sure to ask the person for permission to use it.

Solicited Testimonials

This should be a process that you have for ALL of your products and services. Make sure to get feedback from your clients and turn that feedback into testimonials when appropriate!

Case Studies

This form of content can be amazingly powerful for your marketing. Case studies can be easily created and used to drive conversion rates as well as providing fresh content for the blog page, email marketing, hard copy marketing material and more.
