Once you understand what a squeeze page is, its goal and why they are important, the next step is to identify what to have on your squeeze page.
In order to maximise your conversion rate, we recommend including these important elements:
- A relevant and engaging headline
- Concise copy that clearly outlines the value of the offer
- An image of the offer being presented – and/or the author if that is more suitable
- A simple lead capture form which has no friction points – consider asking only for name and email address
- A CTA (call to action) button with personal copy and that contrasts well with the webpage design
You should also consider including a disclaimer reassuring the reader how their privacy will be respected and their email address used and kept safe and secure.
And, just like with traditional landing pages or email campaigns, the optimum way to ensure you are presenting the most effective squeeze page (and improve conversions) is through A/B testing (the process of comparing two variations of a page or campaign to identify the best performing variation).
To complete a squeeze page A/B test simply select an element, change it on one variation of the page. After you have collated enough data on which version performs better you can refocus your efforts and resources to the best version.
An idea of the elements you can A/B test on your squeeze include:
- CTA button colours
- CTA button copy
- CTA button size
- Length of the headline
- The headline copy
- The position of the lead capture form
- The page length
- The copy length
- The background image
- The product image
- Paragraph copy versus bullet point copy
