Landing pages can be the make or break of many digital marketing campaigns so not only is important to get them right, it’s important to stay on top of the trends so they convert for your business.
68% of B2B businesses use landing pages to get new sales leads for future conversions (MarketingSherpa) and their popularity is only set to continue to rise during 2016.
The Website Design Centre team has compiled the 5 trends for landing pages in 2016 that you really should be paying attention to if you want to succeed online this year.
- Headlines
The headline of your landing page must play to your visitor’s basic needs. Let them know straight away what your offer is and how it can be of benefit to them. Remember too that the best received headlines are those between 6 – 8 words long.
‘On the average, five times as many people read the headline as read the body copy. When you have written your headline, you have spent eighty cents out of your dollar.’ – David Ogilvy
- Use full-screen background videos
Full-screen backgrounds videos on your landing pages will help to tell your story before the copy and your offer is even read.
- Use hidden menus
Rather than using navigation bars use hidden menus – they detract less from your message and internet savvy readers are more than likely to know where to look for your menu.
- Splitting the screen
Put the spotlight directly on that all important headline and your contact or sign up form by splitting the screen into two columns.
- Use gifs
Gifs on landing pages over many more advantages for product demonstration than video – they play quicker, they play on loop and there’s no need for readers to click play.
To convert, landing pages must be SEO optimised, easy to read and with a strong, clear call to action.
