A Quick Web Marketing Check for your Business

Do you know how healthy your web marketing is? When did you last check on how well your business website is performing?

Here’s a few quick checks you can do to determine whether your website marketing is healthy or if it could benefit from a bit of TLC.

Get the grade

Head to www.marketinggrader.com – enter your domain and click Grade Me. You will receive your marketing grade out of 100 and a detailed report.

Google yourself

Search for your business by name and see what results appear.

Sales funnel

Tick off from this checklist the parts of the sales funnel that you are currently using to nurture your website visitors. Be honest, this needs to be what you do on a consistent basis.

Getting to know your business (where 75% are just looking for information):

No risk offer – where no registration is required:

  • YouTube Videos
  • Interviews
  • Audio Files
  • Podcasts
  • Blog Articles

Low risk offer – where they register with an email address:

  • Templates
  • Resources
  • Guides
  • Whitepapers
  • Reports
  • Ebooks

Liking your business (where 23% are comparing your offering to others):

  • Social Media
  • Demos
  • Trials
  • Webinars
  • Testimonials
  • FAQs
  • Guarantees
  • Newsletters
  • Endorsements
  • About us

Trusting your business (where 2% are ready to take action):

  • Contact us
  • Enquiries
  • Buy Now

Analyse your home page text

Go to www.wordle.net and create a cloud image display that will show how search engines such as Google are interpreting the content on your home page. The created cloud image will show the words and phrases that are the most prominent and therefore the words you will most likely rank highly for.

Conduct the Red & Blue Test

This simple test compares me (red) copy to you (blue) copy.

Me copy includes words such as:

  • I
  • We
  • Us
  • Our
  • Me

You copy includes words such as:

  • You
  • Your

Ideally you will have more blue than red words so that a potential client can have their most important question (What’s in it for me?) answered.

So there you have it, a few quick checks of your web marketing that you can do yourself and that will help you to identify where you might need to engage some professional help. For all your web marketing needs just contact the team at Website Design Centre today.
